What's included
Every region has its own weed pressure, and Portland's is shaped by our wet soil and cool summers. Creeping buttercup loves the compacted, poorly-drained clay common across the metro. Clover and dandelion move in wherever the lawn is thin and can't out-compete them. And moss — while not technically a weed — is the complaint we hear most, especially under mature trees where shade, acidic soil, and damp ground stack against the grass.
Spraying alone treats the symptom. A buttercup problem usually points to drainage; a moss problem usually points to shade, compacted soil, and low pH together. Where it makes sense, we pair a targeted broadleaf treatment with the aeration, pH correction, or overseeding that actually closes the door the weeds walked through — otherwise you're re-treating the same patch every year.
Crabgrass, a bigger concern in hotter regions, is a smaller factor here thanks to our cooler summers — we watch for it in the sunniest, driest corners of a property rather than treating every lawn for it by default.

Will one treatment get rid of moss for good?
Rarely on its own. A single application can knock moss back, but if the shade, compaction, and soil pH that caused it aren't addressed, it typically returns. We recommend pairing moss treatment with fall aeration for a lasting fix.
